The axis f44 host supports up to four axis f sensor units and can monitor four adjacent areas. The host can be installed in a sheltered area, while the sensor unit can be installed in a narrow indoor location or outdoor location as far as 8 meters, 12 meters or 15 meters (26, 39 or 49 feet), depending on whether the sensor unit and cable accessories support it. The rugged and versatile axis f44 mainframe is suitable for a variety of demanding applications, including stores, ATMs, ambulance, bus and tram.

Axis f44 provides a simple and cost-effective multi screen monitoring solution that streams images from four different areas simultaneously through one Ethernet port. The total installation cost of the axis f44, four sensor components, and other system components may be lower than that of a system that includes four equivalent standard webcams.
For example, the cost of a network switch may be lower because the number of ports required is reduced. If the video management software (VMS) considers axis f44 to require one license instead of four, the license fee for VMS can also be reduced. The overall installation and layout of these components may also be easier and more flexible than traditional camera solutions. In addition, the versatile axis f44 supports two full-size SD card slots for local storage of recorded content, thus bringing a high-performance stand-alone solution.
Two capture modes
Each channel of the axis f44 supports 1080p or 720p view mode and multiple separately configured video streams. Any combination of two modes that the axis f44 can operate simultaneously between channels.
A view mode sets the maximum resolution and frame rate. In 1080p mode, the maximum resolution is 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) and the maximum frame rate is 12.5/15 frames per second (50 / 60 Hz). It can provide full picture angle from 1080p sensor unit.



In 720p view mode, the maximum resolution is 720p (1280 x 720 pixels) and the maximum frame rate is 25 / 30 frames per second (50 / 60 Hz). It can provide the screen shot of 1080p sensor unit and the whole picture of 720p sensor unit such as axis f1004.

Whether in 1080p mode or 720p mode, axis f44 supports four picture stream processing, and can integrate independent pictures of four sensor units into one picture for simultaneous viewing. Each scene captures a quarter of the display area.

In 720p viewfinder mode, axis f44 provides wide dynamic shadowing (WDR) on all four channels. Wide dynamic shadowing (WDR) technology can be activated when connected to an axis f sensor unit that supports this feature. Wide dynamic shadow hunting (WDR) technology can clearly present the details in bright and dark scene areas. The technology is well suited for scenes where objects appear dark due to bright backgrounds, such as entrances or in front of ATM machines; or night solutions where cameras must handle low light environments and bright lights from vehicles, street lights, signboards and stores. The axis f44, together with the axis f sensing unit, is capable of providing color video at low light levels of 0.3 lux.
